WHY DO YOGA?
It’s simple - yoga can help you live a longer, healthier and happier life.
Yoga can help relieve anxiety, depression and stress.
It helps lower blood pressure, strengthen bones and
improve blood flow. Dr. Timothy McCall calls yoga “the most
powerful system of overall health and well-being” he has ever
seen (2007). Click here for a few of the BENEFITS that
come with regular yoga practice.
There are several styles of yoga; therefore, it’s important to choose a style and instructor that works for you. If your goal is to decrease pain and increase flexibility, a gentle hatha yoga or viniyoga may be suitable. Those looking to get in touch with themselves may enjoy a Kripalu yoga class
which emphasizes creating a safe place for students to release
emotional baggage. Athletes looking to cross train or
anyone looking to lose weight may be attracted to power yoga or
Ashtanga yoga (see PROGRAMS PAGE ).
Regardless of the style of yoga, students who practice regularly will
slow down the aging process, improve mobility, increase energy, and stimulate the nervous system. Immediate affects include increased
balance, strength and flexibility and mood. And the best reason to practice yoga is plain and simple -it feels good.
